What did we propose?
After carefully considering the customers’ requirements we presented a number of variations to maximise all available space and light. We started off by stripping back the existing 1960s warehouse to give us an empty shell – a blank canvas – to work from.
We then set about refurbishing the existing staircase and landing. While these spaces had a lot of potential, they were very dated and not in keeping with the fresh modern style the offices were taking on.
Of course, first impressions count and so we also included the renovation of the entrance space in our proposal. By installing new doors we were able to create a fresh, modern and light atmosphere within the reception space that was in keeping with the open plan feel we were creating elsewhere.
Kempston were also after a meeting room in addition to a new, separate boardroom (their existing boardroom was dated and lacked the technical facilities they desperately needed). With the boardroom and meeting room being a little way from the kitchen area, we proposed adding a new kitchenette within the boardroom to make this room more self-sufficient, giving them the option to make teas and coffees when using the space.
