The process with Cubex was seamless, it was really good, they helped in every aspect from colour schemes, to design, layout, interior design and were just fabulous to work with.
My name is Frances MacKenzie and I am the commercial director for Cubex Contracts. Cubex Contracts refurbishes and fits out commercial premises, like offices and warehouse space. We were contacted by Monkfield Nutrition because they needed some support in the fit out of their new premises. This was and ideal project for Cubex, we had the opportunity to work on a greenfield site which is always good fun and we were able to just come in and get the job done and leave site and have everything just looking immaculate ready for the customer to move in when they were ready to relocate.
Monkfield Nutrition are one of the biggest suppliers of live feed and frozen feed. We’ve been at our site in Wendy for 16 years and started as a small family run business and we had outgrown Wendy completely, so we needed to relocate to help with the growth of the business now and in the future. Our new premises are purpose-built. They were designed with the help of an architect, we needed additional help from an interior designer to help fit it all out.
When I first met with Joe Wise, the managing director from Monkfield Nutrition and Iona the finance manager, they already had an idea of how they wanted to interior layout to be, but they hadn’t thought about the actual space planning for the furniture or the finishes for some of the furniture, the walls etc and how the interior colour scheme was going to fit with their brand. The new premises is in quite a rural location and some of the personnel will be coming in and out of the warehouse in and out from outside which was quite muddy and dirty. We needed to make sure that any floor finishes were robust, would hide the odd speck of dirty etc, but would still look really lovely for Monkfield Nutrition. They’d had quite dated offices previously and this was a really exciting time for them and they wanted to make sure they could bring customers in and be really proud of how their premises was going to look. We made sure that the floor surfaces were a combination of soft carpeting as well as some more hard robust wood effect vinyl flooring that would really sort of match with the outdoor environment here, as well as making sure the furniture had a really nice contemporary, very light white finish with some colour pops on both the chairs and on the screens. Joe and Iona were really good fun to work with, they had some of their own ideas too which was excellent and we were able to incorporate them into the colour scheme. In the end Cubex did all the plastering, we did all the partitioning, we fitted out the fire-rated suspended ceiling, did a little kitchenette for them, we hung all the doors, we did all the floor covering and we supplied the furniture and the window blinds.
Our new premises has made a massive difference to the business, we are welcoming guests in finally. The colour schemes, the brand, everything sort of fits now and it’s where we want to be moving forward as a business.
