We are independently assessed and accredited to work as your Principal Contractor taking on the legal risk and responsibilities of delivering a commercial project. However, we’re a small team too, so you’ll get to know who’s on the other end of the phone, but with the breadth of experience, you can also trust that we’ll deliver.

Sue joined Cubex Contracts a fair few years ago (cough, 6) as Office Administrator and it didn’t take long for her to exceed expectations with her efficiency, attention to detail and organisational skills (not surprising really considering her previous career!) Before joining Cubex, Sue worked as a Primary School Teacher… needless to say she has no issues keeping a lively and young-at-heart Cubex team in line! As Office Administrator, Sue is responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of the office and assisting the Sales and Operations teams with their projects. Sue is also in charge of the tea and coffee supplies, and maybe the odd biscuit! Out of work Sue enjoys spending time in the great outdoors either going for walks or growing her own vegetables in the garden; although this has taken a backseat recently as, at the beginning of 2023, Sue and her husband were promoted to Grandparents! Naturally, Sue has taken her new role of Nanny very seriously and has found a new hobby knitting baby hats, mittens, jumpers … You name it Sue is knitting it. (Any requests, anyone?)
Kris Howe (SMSTS)
Project & Site Manager
Having been in the high-end yacht refurbishment business travelling the world for all of his working life (and we’re talking the kind of yachts we all dream about!), Kris came aboard the Cubex team in 2018 as Project and Site Manager. That’s right, Kris traded Miami for Northamptonshire.
Putting his hands-on carpentry skills and experience to the test, Kris is responsible for making our clients commercial dreams become reality! This includes all of the nitty gritty behind the scenes stuff too including all health and safety requirements, ordering of materials, labour co-ordination and the program of works… it’s fair to say Kris has his hands full!
And the same goes for his homelife; Kris has a wife and two young daughters (his eldest would love a dog, but Kris isn’t so sure there’s enough hours in the day to add another member to their brood). As a family they enjoy going to the cinema, swimming and canoeing in the local river – with a fish net (you never know what you’ll catch out there!). And on the rare occasions where Kris gets some time to himself, he can be found watching the football with a beer in hand… and relaaaax!

Stephen Smith, Principle Consultant and Managing Director at Sphere Risk, Health and Safety Management has been working with Cubex since 2012.
Steve’s impressive list of H&S Qualifications and extensive experience have proved to be invaluable in offering advice to both Cubex and our Customers on Health and Safety issues relating to our projects.
Acting as our competent person and providing us with a common sense approach, Steve and his team have been instrumental in helping Cubex acquire our SMAS, CHAS and Safe Contractor accreditations. His team regularly attend our sites to conduct inspections and training and everyone at Cubex does whatever Steve tells us to do, because he can be quite scary when he tells you off!
Andrea Attwood
Accounts Administrator
Andrea Attwood, from Attwood Associates, joins us once a week to look after our book keeping and finance – she made a huge impact on her first day by bringing in homemade cakes!
We all trip over ourselves to be the first to get Andrea a cuppa when she comes in as she approves our expenses and pays our wages!
With 14 year’s years bookkeeping experience, our company finances are in safe hands. What we all very much want to know, however, is has she ever counted up the spots on her Dalmatian?
Sprout
Office Dog
The adorable Sprout joined the team in May 2021 and lives just 3 miles away from Cubex HQ with our Managing Director, Andy. Although Sprout has to share the limelight at home with his fur-siblings, Rufus and Olly Purrs, he gets all the attention at Cubex! As a member of the Cubex team, Sprout’s main responsibility is greeting visitors, including the postman! Sprout is very good at his job and makes it his mission to befriend as many people as possible throughout the day. In addition to greeting visitors with a mighty (ahem!) bark and wagging tail, Sprout enjoys keeping the Cubex team entertained and sampling the weekly office treat selection. When Sprout isn’t busy working, he enjoys a game of fetch, thieving Andy’s bobble hat and has even been known to paddle board and rock climb! Sprout also enjoys going for long walks; and if he can give Andy the slip, even better… (tracker now in place!) Sprout is an incredibly valued member of the Cubex team who brightens everyone’s day with his happy, friendly and mischievous personality. When Matthew isn’t throwing a ball for him, Sprout can be found lying on the glass floor in the office spying on the people below… someone’s got to keep an eye on things!
