At Cubex Contracts we can install a variety of different sized pallet gates with our mezzanine floor projects, but our preferred style of gate is known as an ‘Up and Over’.

Why the “Up and Over” Pallet Gate?

The answer is simple – it’s all about safety! With a fall from height being the main cause of fatalities in the UK workplace, Cubex Contracts always recommend a pallet gate that offers the maximum protection and can not be left open as a result of human error as is the case with sliding or traditionally opening pallet gates. The “Up and Over” pallet gate prevents an operative, standing on the Mezzanine floor,  accidentally stepping or falling off the floor as there is always a barrier protecting the edge. Apart from the excellent safety element, the “Up and Over” gate can be designed to suit the width and height of any loaded pallet, and it is really light and easy to operate too.

To make sure the area around the gate is kept in good condition Cubex Contracts always recommend a steel chequer plate receiving pad to further protect the mezzanine deck from the forklifts lifting loaded pallets up onto the floor.

In the photos and video below you can see the pallet “Up and Over” gate we installed for Prosaw Ltd. The gate size we installed was 2.500m wide, to clear loads 2.250m high. The video also highlights how easy operating the gate is.
